Went out for the woodcock opener with Dan Kinnee and his pup Sammy from the A litter. We camped and hunted the 24-25th for woodcock and grouse behind Litha. Sammy and Alder from the A litter came along, and got taste of what is to come when they are older. This was Dan’s first time woodcock hunting, and many years since he’s upland hunted behind a dog. We had a lot of shooting, and moved a lot of woodcock and a few grouse. Thanks for making the trip again Dan. Had a great time.
I got out for the grouse opener with Litha the 15th. We moved a ton of birds and Litha had some nice points, but shooting didn’t go so well with the heavy cover and I only got one bird. Litha and I hunted again the 18th and focused on more open cover for shooting purposes We got a limit of grouse in 3 hours after running into a couple nice size broods with open shots. To top things off we ran into a large bear that was that had some dogs running it. The bear was more afraid of us, but hey just another reason to own a Small Munsterlander.
Many of the puppies have gone home and we miss them quite a bit, but the 3 we have left (in addition to our other dogs) are keeping us on our toes and we’re enjoying every minute of it.
Here are the last 3 pups hanging out in the yard, ready to play. To see more pictures of the three available males, please visit our puppy gallery.
The puppies have grown so fast over the last couple weeks and are now 8 weeks old. All are developing distinct personalities and we are enjoying them so much we will miss them when they go to their new homes.
If you have been anxiously awaiting new pictures, we’ve added another Puppy Gallery that includes pictures and video for each puppy. Check it out!
Before you go over to view the individual pictures, here’s a quick video showing all the puppies together looking for a squeak toy just outside the fence.
This is the first day we’ve taken all 9 puppies outside to play together in the grass. They were difficult to keep track of, if you can imagine! My wife and I were chasing them all over the yard, but they were so much fun to watch.
Today the puppies are 20 days old and are now between 2 and 2 1/2 pounds each. Each pup is gaining around 2 ounces a day and they are growing fast.
They’ve started playing with each other and gotten vocal, barking and whining and some even have a cute little howl. You can see and hear some of it in the video below.

Here are the puppies getting a little rambunctious!
And here are the puppies learning to walk!
The puppies are now twelve days old and growing fast. They’ve doubled their weight and they’ve learned to walk around. Some of the puppies have started to open their eyes, but it will be a few days before they’ll be able to see clearly. Here are a couple updated pictures.
